Anne’s Education Credentials
Anne Barab served three terms, nine years on the board of a 34,000 student school district in Dallas, Texas. Students in the district are 50% economically disadvantaged and speak 96 languages. During her tenure, passing rates for white students rose from 70% to 91%, while African American and Hispanic passing rates rose from 45% to about 85%. At the same time, district leaders had to cut 25% from the total operating budget. Her district was named one of the Top 100 in the US by The Wall Street Journal. Bottom line: Anne has walked her talk.
